SotDL Freeport Companion

Just a heads up for all you awesome people. This morning I shipped out the PDFs for the SotDL Freeport Companion via DriveThruRPG. If you are expecting it and don't see the link, check your spam folder and/or account to see if you can get the link. Otherwise, contact me by message here and I'll get you another link.

For the printed version, we should have the files uploaded to the printer in a day or two. Then, we have to wait for approval and the proof to arrive. I'm hoping to get all this and the Freeport Trilogy shipped out by the end of August.

Thanks!

Rob

Another month means another progress report! Here we go!

Freeport Companion

Edited, illustrated, and mapped, this product is now in layout and proofreading. Kara has been uploading a chapter at a time so Jay can rub his eyes over it, letting us move quickly through production.

Here are some sample pages.

Madness in Freeport

This one is all done and ready to go. We're just waiting on the maps to come in and we'll send it out. Once Madness gets printer approval, I will also start shipping the printed trilogy to backers who picked up the add-on.

Beyond the World's Edge

Kim's wrapping up the manuscript now and art assets have been rolling in. Here's the cover by Mirco Paganessi:

Tales of the Pirate Isles

I made a few changes in how I was going to approach this product. Rather than three adventures, I'm including eleven. Rather than have me write all the adventures, I enlisted help. I have written the first two. The remaining nine adventures are to be written by: Nat Webb, Robert Adducci, Jason Bulmahn, Greg Marks, Steve Kenson, Eric Cagle, Andrew Follett, Miranda Horner, and Stephen Radney-MacFarland. Pretty cool, yeah?

Demon Lord's Companion 2

After putting together a rough outline, I started design. This book is going to be loaded with great content. Here's a glimpse:

Ancestries

I'm highlight rare and unusual peoples drawn into the struggle against the Demon Lord. This book will include six new ancestries: Bolgen (reclusive nature dudes), Ferren (shapeshifting cat people), Molekin (molemen thieves), Naga (serpent human hybrids in service to the Cosmic Egg), Sylph (air elementals), and Yaeri (tech-savvy insect people).

Story Complications

I intend to offer a selection of cool story complications that highlight weird stuff in the world. Spell-scarred, Engraved, Dangerously Inbred, and more.

Group Themes

This book will also include several group themes, story overlays that explain why your group is together. I have the tech sorted out and a short list of what I want to cover. Examples include Soldiers of Fortune, Wandering Troupe, Agents of the Archmage, and so on.

Paths

I'll include a selection of paths in this book to cover areas we have yet to fully explore. More on this next month.

Gear

This book will include an assortment of unusual and interesting items that have minor magical power. Some will contain spells, others enhance spellcasting, and others are just plain weird.

Magic

While working on everything else, I have been making great progress on the upcoming magic sourcebook, Occult Philosophy. I decided to introduce the five new traditions in this book. We'll be revealing Binding, Humors (was blood), Metal, Order, and Soul.

And that's it. Work continues and we're still on track to get the Companion out by August and should have the rest out the door by the end of the year.

As always, thanks for your support!

Hello Freeport backers! Here's your update:

Freeport Companion

Edited copy is in hand. All art assets, except for the maps, have been turned over, and the file is in Kara's hands. This is a big book, so I expect it will take a little time to get it pulled together. Once Kara has the layout, Jay will run his keen eyeballs over it to squash any goblins that might have slipped in. We are on schedule to put the PDF in your hands by August.

Here's some killer art.

Death in Freeport

You have the PDFs. The printer has approved the files for printing. Once we get Madness in Freeport wrapped and approved, I'll be shipping these books out.

Terror in Freeport

We're just about done with this. As of last night, Jay signed off on his proofing pass of the PDF. You should get this bad boy in a few days.

Madness in Freeport

Jay is doing his editing pass now. Illustrations are all in, except for the maps, which I expect to land soon.

 Beyond the World's Edge

I handed over the text to Kim Mohan on Wednesday this week and I've ordered all the art. I expect everything turned over by 7/1, so this book should come out soon after the Freeport Companion.

Tales of the Pirate Isles

I'm currently sketching out the plots for the 11 adventures that will go in this book. Design should start next week.

Demon Lord's Companion 2

I start work on this after I wrap Tales.

And that's it! Thanks for reading and supporting this Kickstarter campaign!

Terror in Freeport

Jay is about 80% through his proofing pass of the document. We have all the art assets from Ivan Dixon and Cecil is nearly done with the maps. I expect this should come along soon after Death.

Conversion complete. This adventure shifts into editing after Terror. Some art for you!

Beyond the World's Edge

Work continues! I'm about 30% done. While this will act as a setting expansion, it's also operating as a mini Bestiary, so I think you'll really dig this one.

Tales of the Pirate Isles & DLC 2

Planning stage on both of these.

Print Freeport Trilogy

To keep shipping costs down, I will be shipping the printed copies of the Freeport Trilogy together. So, you will have the PDFs first. Once we get approval on the third from the printer, I'll start sending them out.

Thanks for reading and for your fantastic support!
