Hey gang! Its October and that means it's time for another update.
Beyond the World's Edge
The book is mostly done. We're proofing the PDF and awaiting the maps. This should be coming soon. In fact, once Cecil Howe sends me the maps, we're plugging them in. Jay is tackling the proofing pass on this as we speak.
Here are some glimpses of what's inside:
And this one, featuring killer art by Kim Van Deun!
And here's another partial page, featuring killer art from Jack Kaiser!
Queen of Gold: Tales of the Pirate Isles
All the text is in and nearly all the art. Cecil Howe is banging these out once he wraps Beyond the World's Edge. I showed off some art last time, so I'll let that hold you for now.
Demon Lord's Companion 2
I am happy to report that this product is almost done and is in Jay's capable hands. Although this product unlocked last, we will likely have this one out first of the last three books. Here are some super sexy glimpses of what's inside.
What Else is Cooking?
In addition to closing in on the finish line for this Kickstarter campaign, we've been busy at work with a variety of other products. You can find out more about each by clicking the links.
In addition to these recent releases, we're hard at work getting more adventures into your hands.
First up, we have Quintet by Scott Fitzgerald Gray, a brutal adventure for expert characters.
Next, we have Necessary Sacrifices by Schwalb, a novice adventure that mixes mystery and mayhem.
Also, we have Low Country (Lands in Shadow) by Skip Williams, the Created (Monstrous Pages) by Schwalb, covering all kinds of sentient constructs, and Old Edene (Lands in Shadow) also by Schwalb, which details the remnants of the fallen Kingdom of Edene.
Current Kickstarter Fun
My friends over at Wyrd Edizioni are running a Kickstarter campaign for the Italian edition of Shadow of the Demon Lord. While this awesome boxed set is fantastic for Italian readers, English readers can get their hands on the box itself to store all the dead characters, adventures, and other supplements released for the game. Check it out here.
Upcoming Kickstarters from Schwalb Entertainment
I have two big projects in various stages of design. The first is PunkApocalyptic: The Roleplaying Game, a brutal survival game set in a dystopian future. While this game uses the SDL engine, it makes significant changes to the game so it can stand on its own. We're starting the alpha testing this week to make sure I'm on the right track.
Next, we have Occult Philosophy. This massive book will have 800+ spells, rules for playing beyond level 10, a slew of new paths, relics, and other magical things, all steeped in the darkness you love so much.
I don't have launch dates for either yet, as I will not run a Kickstarter campaign until the writing is done, but I'm making steady progress. Stay tuned!
Last
Thanks all for your support over these months and I'm excited to get these last products into your hands. They are, without a doubt, some of the best books we've released so far!

September is upon us! And this is where things stand with the remaining three products.
Beyond the World's Edge
This book is moving into production. Almost all the assets are in place. I don't have an exact date yet for the release, but sometime within the next couple months.
Queen of Gold: Tales of the Pirate Isles
Edited text is in and we have all the art except for a couple of maps. Here are some art previews! This supplement will be out soon after World's Edge.
Demon Lord's Companion 2
I just received edited copy for this bad boy today! And, art has started dribbling in too! I showed off the gorgeous cover over on Facebook, but here it is again, plus an interior to get you all hot and bothered.
Other Things
While all these great books are in the works, we're still hammering away at other new releases. Today, we released Uncommon Courage, a deep look at halflings, and next week we have the Wee Folk! Here's a glimpse of what's inside:
Finally, that new big thing? Well, I made the announcement while I was in Brazil and posted the press release soon after. In case you missed it, here it is: PunkApocalyptic: The Roleplaying Game!
As always, thank you for all your enthusiastic support and for making these great products awesome.

Quick Update

I'll be unavailable over the next few days, as I'll be out of the country. All physical copies of the Shadow of the Demon Lord Freeport Companion and Trilogy have shipped. If you have a problem, please get in touch with me after 8/21. No demons will be available to assist you until then.
As for the rest of the products released through this campaign, all have been written and are in various stages of production: Beyond is in layout and awaiting maps, Queen of Gold is awaiting art and maps (we have edited copy in hand), and DLC2 is with Kim Mohan and the artists.
Gen Con is this weekend, and I know several SotDL games are running under the Baldman Games banner. So if you're going, drop in and say hello to all the awesome volunteers. Finally, Studio 2 Publishing is selling Demon Lord product, so check them out if you're missing anything.
Thanks for all your support. We're rapidly nearing the finish line on this campaign!

August News and Updates

Hello! It's August, so here's your progress report:
Freeport Companion and Trilogy
By now, all of you who were to receive PDFs of the Companion and trilogy should have done so. I've just received approval from the printer for Madness and I placed my order for the hardcopy proofs. They should arrive in a couple of days. So what does this mean? Next week, I start shipping out physical copies of the Companion and the trilogy! Yep, these products should land in your mailboxes well ahead of schedule. I can't quite reach my back for patting, so I'll accept any attaboys you want to send my way,
Beyond the World's Edge
We have edited copy and all the art except for the maps. I was a bad man and loaded up Cecil Howe with a ton of work, so he's busily at work knocking out pieces for Beyond and Tales, as well as other awesome products that are in production. To tide you over until its release, here are some looks at the excellent art you'll find inside.
Queen of Gold: Tales of the Pirate Isles
Tom Cadorette is tackling editing duties for this one and we're probably about halfway through the process. All the art has been ordered and sketches are rolling in. Want to see some? Check them out:
Demon Lord's Companion 2: Electric Boogaloo
Work continues on this beast. I really, really want to keep the page count under control, but this is me we're talking about and this one will inevitably come in longer than expected. Oh well. The outline I posted from last time still holds. I've wrapped the ancestries and traditions chapters, though I decided to cut the Humors tradition. I might do something with it in Occult Philosophy. Here are some sample fun things from the book.
More Stuff
I would be remiss if I didn't take the opportunity to talk about other fun things coming out from Schwalb Entertainment.
City of Chains: A new Lands in Shadow detailing Dis, the City of Chains. Written by Darren Pearce.
Grand Duchy: A new Lands in Shadow detailing the Duchy of the West. Written by Eric Cagle
Caecras: A new Lands in Shadow detailing Caecras. Written by the Schwalb
Pull of the Stars: A new Lands in Shadow detailing the star system! Words and art by Jack Kaiser.
Saving Face: A new novice adventure written by Jennifer Clarke Wilkes!
Wee Folk: New Monstrous Pages covering nasty, little faeries.
Uncommon Courage: New Victims of the Demon Lord detailing halflings.
Wretched and Unclean: New Monstrous Pages detailing troglodytes
Finally, this week, I signed a contract to create a new roleplaying game using the Demon Lord Engine. It will be the first new game from Schwalb Entertainment since Shadow. It's vulgar, nasty, and fun. If you liked Godless, you're going to love this game. Stay tuned for more details!
As always, thanks for supporting this campaign and thanks for reading!
